Music by Performers from the Victoria Bluegrass Association
Penny Belle is a soulful folk rock band that performs original songs in French and English with intricate vocal arrangements, harmonies and brass. Our music is joyful, upbeat and fun for the whole family. Expect sing-alongs and deep thoughts.
The band is made up of Megan Thom on guitar, vocals and trombone, children's entertainer Madame B (Kimara Brilling) on vocals, ukulele and the occasional tap dance. Penny Belle also includes Dave Flello on trumpet, David Booth on stand up bass and Chris Sivak on drums.
The Hoss Mountain String band is a dynamic bluegrass ensemble based in Victoria, British Columbia. Formed through connections within the local bluegrass community, the band has become a staple in the region's music scene. The ensemble is multi-generational, and their performances are characterized by high-energy renditions of both traditional and contemporary bluegrass tunes, enriched by various influences such as old-time and swing. A charismatic stage presence invites the audience into shared stories, laughter, and foot-stomping good times.
